# How to set up Cart Upsell?

| Premium plan required.

There are two ways to display product recommendations in the Slide Cart to help customers discover products and boost your revenue:

## Method 1: Auto-generated Recommendations by Shopify

Shopify can automatically generate upsell product recommendations based on factors like product collections, tags, and purchase history. This method requires minimal setup.

## Method 2: Create and Customize Upsell Recommendations Manually

### Step 1: Install Shopify Search & Discovery (Price: Free)

### Step 2: Create product recommendations

1. In the **Shopify Search & Discovery** app, click **Product recommendations**, and then click **Add recommendations.**

2. Select a product that you want to customize product recommendations for.

3. Select up to **10 Related products** to recommend. Set the product to display only the custom recommendations or to display both custom recommendations and automatically generated recommendations

||| Our slide cart does NOT retrieve data from complementary products; it only retrieves data from **Related products.**

|| Related products are based on products that are commonly purchased together, have a similar product description, or products in related collections. Related products become more accurate over time as more order and product information becomes available.

4. Disable option **Hide auto-generated recommendations**

5. Click **Save**.

### Step 3: Enable advanced upsell

1. Open qikify **Sticky add to cart, Slide Cart**
    
2. Select option **"Enable advanced upsell 🔥🔥🔥"**
