How to show Smart Menu on your storefront?

After creating your menu in Smart Menu, you can choose a current menu on your store to be replaced by Smart Menu. There are 3 ways to do it: Auto - Replace Main menu, Manual - Replace menu from Shopify, or Manual - Replace menu by CSS selector.

1. Auto - Replace Main menu

By default, the option "Auto - Replace Main menu" is selected. With this option, the app will automatically find the main menu in your theme to replace. || In some cases, the app can't find the main menu to replace. Please try other manual options: Manual - Replace menu from Shopify and Manual - Replace menu by CSS selector

2. Manual - Replace menu from Shopify

With this option, you need to manually select the menu you added in the theme. So, our app can find and replace it.

Select your main menu: select your desktop menu that you want to replace with Smart Menu Smart Menu can't replace a menu item in a menu, it can only replace the whole menu, so you should select your Main menu
Select mobile menu: select your mobile menu that you want to replace with Smart Menu If you want to only show Smart Menu on desktop and keep your original menu on mobile, leave the this field blank. If you do not enable the app on the live

Step 1. Go to Option set page:

From the app’s navigation menu, on the left-hand side of the screen, please select the Option Sets tab.
Click on the Create option set button, and then select the option labeled Create from scratch from the dropdown menu. This selection indicates that you wish to build a new option set without using a template.

You will be automatically redirected to the option set editor page. This page is the workspace where you will configure and manage your new option set.

Why is my Smart Menu not showing up or showing incorrectly?

There are various reasons why Smart Menu is not showing up or showing incorrectly in a store. Please read these cases and check the following solutions.

Haven't selected the correct menu to replace

Smart Menu works by replacing the whole theme's menu. Hence, if you use "Manual - Replace menu from Shopify" method, please make sure to select your main menu to be replaced in Step 2: Add & Design Please make sure that you enable the app on the live theme. If you don't, the app can't get data from your Shopify and it will show "List is empty".

Theme splits main menu into 2 parts

Some themes have options to split the menu to 2 different part. That makes Smart Menu can't replace the whole menu. Example: Impulse theme There are 2 solutions:

Go to your theme settings and find an option to change the header layout, make the menu not split, then Smart Menu can replace it. (eg. Logo center, menu below)
Hide your logo in theme and add your logo as a menu item in Smart Menu.

How to Embed Form to a page

In Display > Open form in > select Embed Form if you want to display Contact Form in the page content, don't want to trigger form with a button.

|| If you use the form as Embed Form, you do NOT need to configure the Trigger Button settings. The Embed Form does not have a trigger button. It will display the form directly on your page.

Then you need to add this shortcode to the page content or liquid file: <div contactform-embed='FORM_ID'></div>

Remember to replace FORM_ID in the shortcode with the correct Form ID of your form. You can find the Form ID in the form settings.

|| NOTE: You must click the Save button to create the form first, then the Form ID will appear.

In our example, the shortcode will be: <div contactform-embed='224148'></div>

There are some ways to add this shortcode to embed the form:

Method 1: Add to the page content using the app block

Go to your theme customization > Choose the page you would like to embed form.
Click on Add section > Apps > Contact Form Embed

How to display Smart Menu on preview theme?

In some cases, Smart Menu may not appear in unpublished themes when previewing (themes which have not been live yet), so you will need to enable App embeds in theme's settings. This article will help you to display Smart Menu in those unpublished themes.

Step 1: In Shopify Admin, select Online Store > Themes > choose the unpublished theme you want to preview with Smart Menu app > Click on the “Customize” button

Step 2: Click on “Theme settings” > Choose “App embeds” > Turn on the toggle to activate app

Step 3: Click on the “Save” button to save your changes. Now Smart Menu will display on your unpublished theme.
